Modernizing an Agency Brand to Meet the Moment

Faktory is an award-winning, full-service agency that was founded in 2005. In the intervening years, their own brand was feeling a little out of step, both in design style and meaning. They needed something more contemporary, something that reflected their collective personality and ambition, and something that looked like now.

For this assignment, I drew inspiration from the staff across all disciplines to develop a design approach centered on:

  • Vibrant, warm colors that still felt approachable

  • Bold typography that mixes classic utilitarianism with big personality

  • Simple and minimal graphics with expressive and playful moments using texture, pattern, shading, and color

  • A smart, personable, and lively tone of voice

The rebranding work helped drive an over 300% lift in social engagement for the agency, as well as elevating their profile as an acquisition target (Faktory was acquired by TrendyMinds in 2023).
